Report on International Day of Yoga (IDY) 2026 Celebration

Drs. Sudha & Nageswara Rao Siddhartha Institute of Dental Sciences enthusiastically celebrated the International Day of Yoga (IDY) 2026 on 21st June 2026 as part of the "Yogandhra Campaign 2026" initiated by the Government of Andhra Pradesh and Dr. NTR University of Health Sciences, Vijayawada. The programme was organized with the objective of promoting physical, mental, and spiritual well-being through the ancient Indian practice of yoga.

The event witnessed active participation from faculty members, students, and staff of the institution. The programme commenced with a welcome address by Dr. C. V. Rao, Director, Dr. PSIMS & RF, who emphasized the significance of yoga in maintaining physical fitness, mental peace, stress management, and overall well-being. He highlighted the importance of incorporating yoga into daily life to achieve a balanced and healthy lifestyle.

Dr. M. V. Ramoji Rao, Principal

Stressed the essential role of yogic meditation in enhancing concentration, emotional stability, and mental wellness.

Dr. A. Kaleswara Rao, Professor

Demonstrated various yoga asanas and explained their benefits for physical health and flexibility.

Guided all participants through the Common Yoga Protocol (CYP) and elaborated on the numerous benefits of yoga for physical and mental wellness.

Sri Y. Madhusudhana Rao

Highlighted the relevance of yoga in developing concentration, discipline, and healthy lifestyle habits among students.

Common Yoga Protocol (CYP) Session

A guided yoga session was conducted under the supervision of a qualified yoga instructor. Participants actively performed various yogic practices included in the Common Yoga Protocol, such as:

The session enabled participants to experience the physical, mental, and emotional benefits of yoga while reinforcing the importance of regular practice for holistic health.

Following the yoga session, Dr. M. V. Ramoji Rao, Principal, delivered the vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to all dignitaries, faculty members, students, staff, and organizers for their enthusiastic participation and support in making the programme a grand success.

The event concluded on a patriotic note with the singing of the National Anthem of India, during which all participants stood in unison, reflecting the spirit of unity, discipline, and national pride.
